Overview
In this role you lead geotechnical projects from investigation through to design, guiding the team and contributing to business development in a central London multidisciplinary practice. You will provide technical input on building and infrastructure projects, manage budgets and programmes, and prepare reports and fee proposals. You’ll mentor junior engineers and take a lead role within the geotechnical team with a clear progression pathway toward Associate. This is a client-facing, impactful leadership position.
Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver geotechnical projects from investigation to design
- Provide technical input across building and infrastructure projects
- Perform and review geotechnical analysis and design
- Prepare technical reports, specifications and fee proposals
- Liaise with clients, contractors and other consultants
- Manage project budgets, programmes and deliverables
- Support business development and client relationships
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Lead the geotechnical team with pathway to Associate
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or a related discipline
- Strong experience in a geotechnical consultancy environment
- Chartered or working towards Chartership
- Strong knowledge across ground investigation, foundations and geotechnical design
- Confident in managing projects and communicating with clients
- Commercially minded with interest in developing client relationships
- Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers would be beneficial
