Finance Data Platform Consultant

Overview

In this role you help build and operate a modern finance data platform that underpins the CFO agenda. You will work on a governed data foundation integrated with ERP estates, delivering reporting, analytics and AI capabilities. You will be hands-on from day one, designing, testing, and validating data pipelines and reconciliations to ensure platform outputs match the ledger. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable finance transformation and scalable insights.

Responsibilities

• Model and implement finance data platform components across ingestion, conformed core, and curated data sets
• Build and test data pipelines and data products; ensure cost-efficient compute
• Integrate ERP data (SAP, Oracle) into reporting/analytics environments and validate reconciliations
• Design and document governance, lineage, and master data for finance structures
• Develop and validate analytics, management reporting, and semantic definitions underpinning metrics
• Experiment with AI/analytics use cases on the platform and contribute to design discussions
• Support client workshops and produce clear options and analyses for decision-making
• Promote AI-first delivery approaches and advise on tooling and processes

Key requirements

• Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data platform (Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir Foundry)
• Experience moving financial data from ERP systems into reporting/analytics environments and reconciling it
• Strong SQL and API skills; familiarity with ETL/ELT patterns and change-data-capture
• Exposure to Python or ML platforms; knowledge of finance master data and COA concepts
• Understanding of chart-of-accounts, entities/ledgers, and finance data governance
• Relevant cloud-data or AI certifications or a professional finance/accounting qualification
