Overview

You will support cancer clinical trials by administrating data and coordinating trial activities. Working closely with the Trial Coordinator, you will help ensure data integrity, timely reporting, and adherence to regulatory standards. You will provide clerical and data management support to the trials team and assist in training junior staff. This role offers the chance to contribute to cancer care improvement and to develop trial management expertise within a leading research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day study protocol operations and data collection
  • Ensure data sets are complete and accurate; run queries and perform data cleaning
  • Maintain and deliver clean data sets for statistical analysis and generate reports
  • Record, code, and verify incoming forms; manage coding lists and data interpretation guidance
  • Test data entry, validation and reporting applications; create ad-hoc databases and reports
  • Coordinate trial logistics including meetings, supply distribution, and documentation
  • Prepare study documentation and publicity materials; manage bibliographic databases
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures; train others in their use
  • Support Serious Adverse Event reporting and escalation with the Trial Coordinator
  • Cover for Trial Coordinator when required and assist in supervising junior staff

Key requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant biomedical or related subject; demonstrable trial experience
  • Aptitude for large/complex relational databases (MS Access or SQL Server preferred) with querying and data cleaning
  • Experience with statistics packages (SPSS, Minitab, BMDP or SAS) desired
  • Excellent office management and clerical skills; proficient computing and document layout
  • Attention to detail and understanding of the research framework
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; proactive problem solving
  • Experience with literature searches and maintaining bibliographic databases
