Senior Performance Test Engineer (SC Cleared)

Overview

In this role you will lead performance testing for critical applications, applying end-to-end performance engineering across cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem environments. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and execute load, performance, and stress tests, align with non-functional requirements, and drive efficiency through platform performance initiatives. You will mentor junior team members and progressively integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, leveraging monitoring and diagnostics tools to identify bottlenecks and improve system scalability. This role offers impactful work on core apps within a security‑conscious, forward‑thinking team. A clear SC clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead performance testing for core critical apps
• Own Performance Test Engineering across multiple systems
• Design and execute performance, load and stress tests using JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner
• Ensure tests align with non-functional requirements
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor and troubleshoot using Grafana, Splunk, New Relic, Dynatrace
• Identify bottlenecks and drive efficiency through platform performance engineering
• Mentor and share skills with junior team members

Key requirements

• Around three years’ experience leading performance testing with JMeter
• Azure / Cloud experience (ADF useful but not essential)
• OAT and Functional Test Automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber in Agile
• SC clearance (current)
• Experience with end-to-end performance testing across architectures
• Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, Jenkins, CI/CD
