In this role you will join a respected independent planning consultancy in Banbury to lead a range of planning applications and appeals while delivering strategic guidance to public and private clients. You’ll work within a collaborative team to grow the business, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to a diverse project portfolio across residential, commercial, and strategic land sectors. You will shape planning solutions, engage with local authorities and stakeholders, and support career development within the team. Responsibilities

  • Manage a wide range of planning applications, appeals, and development proposals
  • Provide strategic planning advice to private and public sector clients
  • Prepare planning appraisals, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
  • Support business development and identify new opportunities
  • Mentor and support junior planning team members (Senior/Associate level)

Key requirements

  • MRTPI qualified or working towards chartered status
  • Experience in planning consultancy or local authority environment
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and proactive client management
  • For Associate level: experience in business development and team leadership is advantageous
