Overview

In this role you will lead integration of complex construction programmes across multiple projects and sites in London and Thames Valley. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, achievable schedules from tender through live delivery, within framework environments. You’ll shape planning strategies for multi-project portofolios and play a key role in risk management and reporting. This is an opportunity to drive programme governance and deliver measurable progress across major healthcare, education, residential, and other public-sector projects.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and manage integrated construction programmes covering design, procurement, commercial and construction activities
  • Develop programmes with output rates, time-risk allowances, terminal float and contractual completion requirements
  • Oversee planning across multiple projects/framework workstreams with consistent reporting and controls
  • Use Asta Powerproject and Primavera P6 to develop, update and manage programmes
  • Create Tender Event Schedules (TES) and procurement schedules
  • Develop tender, PCSA, contract and construction programmes
  • Prepare site logistics plans and scaffold schedules
  • Provide planning input for tender settlements including benchmarking and risk
  • Contribute to progress reporting and BI dashboards
  • Produce monthly planning and progress reports and client programme updates
  • Engage with subcontractors to review programmes and compliance with contracts
  • Conduct regular site visits to compare progress with plan
  • Aggregate progress and as-built data; forecast scenarios and communicate impacts
  • Identify programme risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Support delay, change and entitlement discussions
  • Mentor junior planning staff and promote collaborative culture

Key requirements

  • Strong planning experience in a UK main contractor environment
  • Experience on projects valued 5m–100m+
  • Experience across frameworks or multiple concurrent projects/workstreams
  • Programme governance, forecasting and coordination across multiple projects
  • Construction-related qualification (BSc/HNC/HND or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of planning techniques and controls
  • Excellent Asta Powerproject and Primavera P6 skills
  • Experience with Bluebeam or similar software
  • Understanding of NEC/JCT contracts and tender documents
  • Ability to work independently across several projects
  • Strong communication with project, commercial, design and client teams
