Overview

In this role you will advance American Express’s visibility in traditional and AI-driven search, helping content be indexed, interpreted, and surfaced in AI-generated responses. You will blend technical SEO, structured data, and AI-ready content optimization, partnering with product, engineering, marketing and analytics teams to improve performance across search engines and large language models. This is a unique opportunity to shape Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) for a trusted global brand. You will work across markets and cross-functional teams to drive impactful, scalable search outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute SEO and AEO strategies across traditional and AI-driven search platforms
  • Lead SEO and AEO initiatives for international markets and manage local stakeholder relationships
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, content and analytics teams to improve content discoverability and representation
  • Support crawlability, indexation, and rendering improvements
  • Assist with structured data implementation (schema.org, JSON-LD) and site performance optimization
  • Contribute to AI search optimization by improving content structure, clarity, and intent alignment
  • Identify AI visibility gaps and opportunities, and track performance with AI-driven metrics
  • Deliver knowledge and enablement materials to educate teams on SEO and AEO standards

Key requirements

  • 2+ years of SEO experience (agency or in-house)
  • Familiarity with SEO tools (Conductor, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics)
  • Advanced technical SEO understanding and web architecture (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Exposure to Generative AI in SEO workflows
  • Strong communication and collaboration across teams
