Overview

As a Portfolio Manager in the Cazenove Charities team, you will manage a defined portfolio of charity clients and deliver strong outcomes within governance frameworks. You will build trusted relationships, identify growth opportunities, and collaborate with Investment, Planning, and specialist teams to tailor solutions. You will ensure risk-aware delivery, maintain accurate client records, and support junior colleagues’ development. This role supports Schroders’ mission to deliver excellent investment performance through active management and is a key part of expanding the charity client franchise.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a defined portfolio of clients and deliver high-quality service
  • Build long-term relationships through proactive engagement
  • Identify opportunities to grow client relationships in line with client needs
  • Support net new business through referrals and introductions
  • Drive revenue growth and meet targets for net new assets and profitability
  • Escalate complex or high-risk matters appropriately
  • Provide responsive, professional client experience
  • Ensure client objectives, risk profiles, and circumstances are understood
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions
  • Collaborate with Investment, Planning and specialist teams to deliver solutions
  • Support client reviews, portfolio updates, and implementation activity
  • Contribute to client retention and satisfaction
  • Operate within regulatory, group, and divisional policies
  • Complete KYC and client reviews accurately and on time
  • Understand portfolio risk parameters and escalate concerns early
  • Demonstrate sound judgement in client decision-making
  • Support a strong risk culture through disciplined behaviours
  • Use the firm’s platform and data/tools to track client activity and outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of client processes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and develop junior colleagues

Key requirements

  • Regulatory-approved qualifications (Level 4 and Level 7, e.g., CISI)
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients
  • Strong client relationship management and service delivery
  • Understanding of risk and governance frameworks
  • Ability to work with Investment, Planning and specialist teams
  • Coaching and development of junior staff
  • Proficiency in using client platforms and data/tools
