About the Role
As a Blue Yonder Dispatcher Technical Lead, you will play an important role overseeing application development and operational stability for specific clients and instances. Working closely with the Head of Supply Chain Technology, you will help define the overall BY Dispatcher strategy and roadmap, drive innovation, and guide solution architecture while mentoring the development team.
Crucially, you will safeguard system availability for our clients by acting as the primary technical escalation point for major incidents, which includes participating in a scheduled out-of-hours on-call rotation.
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical specifications
- Design application architecture and technical solutions aligned with business objectives and WMS strategy, ensuring adherence to security best practices and data privacy standards
- Allocate development work, conduct code reviews, and oversee smooth deployment and release management across all environments
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and constructive feedback to development team members
- Act as the primary technical liaison with the Blue Yonder vendor for both core product and custom code escalations and support
- Lead rapid resolution of major incidents (P1/P2) and conduct post-incident Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to implement preventative fixes
- Oversee the integration of Blue Yonder applications with external systems and third-party software
- Identify performance bottlenecks and design optimisations to improve overall application performance
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams and design specifications
About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role!
- Extensive hands‑on experience configuring, architecting, and implementing Blue Yonder (JDA) WMS Dispatcher solutions (experience with two or more versions of Dispatcher is essential)
- Deep domain experience in logistics and supply chain, with an understanding of complex warehousing setups
- Essential expertise in Oracle Database performance troubleshooting, Advanced PL/SQL, standard SQL, and Shell Scripting
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of Linux Operating Systems and Cloud Console Management (AWS or Azure)
- Demonstrated experience leading large IT/software projects using Agile or iterative methodologies, managing incident escalations (ITIL), and conducting Root Cause Analysis
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical business stakeholders and cross‑functional teams
- Highly advantageous: Proficiency in Java, Python, or C#, and experience designing reports using iReports
