Civil Section Engineer – Water

Location: Leicester

Rate: £300-£400 per day

Duration: 6 months

Type: Contract / Site-based

A leading organisation is looking for an experienced Section Engineer with a strong civil engineering and water-sector background to support a major water project in Leicester.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor, providing technical guidance, engineering advice and support to the site team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering advice and technical support to the site team.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and QS throughout the project.
• Advise on construction methodology, engineering issues and site delivery.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Support the resolution of technical queries and site issues.
• Monitor engineering quality and ensure works are delivered to specification.
• Liaise with designers, subcontractors and site management.
• Provide guidance and technical input across the project.

Requirements

• Civil Engineering qualification/background – essential
• Previous water-sector experience – essential
• Experience working as a Section Engineer / Site Engineer on water projects.
• Strong understanding of civil construction and site delivery.
• Comfortable providing technical advice and consulting with site teams.
• Able to work closely with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
