Overview
As a Section Engineer on a major water infrastructure framework with United Utilities, you oversee a defined project section on site, ensuring engineering tasks align with standards, Rams, permits and programme requirements. You’ll coordinate with client teams, supervise subcontractors, and contribute to a safe, quality-driven delivery on site in Cumbria. This role combines design management and on-site execution within a large-scale AMP8/AMP9 programme, offering impact across critical water assets.
Responsibilities
- Deliver elements of the works on the framework in line with contractual obligations and programme
- Ensure works are covered by approved RAMS and permits
- Follow temporary works process and maintain appropriate checks and permits
- Brief workforce and subcontractors to provide necessary information for works
- Collaborate with client to support delivery on site
- Feed in to weekly/monthly programme for section and record site activity
- Maintain daily site diaries for the section
- Ensure assurance, ITPs and check sheets for permanent/temporary works
- Conduct safety and quality inspections for the works
- Cooperate with site supervision to ensure safe, timely execution
Key requirements
- Degree/HNC in Engineering (essential)
- CSCS Card
- Vocational Training (Graduate Engineer level)
- Full UK driving licence
- Understanding of engineering principles
- Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
- Some civil/mechanical construction experience
