Overview

In this VP role, you will lead the EMEA Private Equity accounting operations for GIA LPAAS in Manchester, ensuring accurate client deliverables and an evolving operating model. You will manage daily/monthly audit cycles, oversee capital call payments, and coordinate with regulatory and change teams to embed requirements by design. You will coach the team, drive process standardisation, and strengthen controls while partnering across internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily/monthly audit cycle for GIA clients in Private Equity, validating positions, transactions and NAV between bank records and Investment Managers.
  • Oversee client deliverables and ensure accuracy, with timely escalation for delays or errors.
  • Oversee and authorise Capital Call payments for clients.
  • Support workstreams to deliver client outcomes and continual development of the GIA operating model.
  • Act as point of contact for regulatory matters, ensuring requirements are embedded by design.
  • Review and strengthen the control framework; participate in audit, risk, and control reviews.
  • Review and update departmental policies/procedures for accurate, compliant output.
  • Contribute to initiatives to standardise, streamline processes, and drive automation and service improvement.
  • Develop knowledge of client financial products, bank digital tools, procedures, internal processes, and market developments.
  • Support team capability through coaching, training, onboarding, and guidance on project delivery.
  • Promote collaboration and support effective change delivery to meet team goals.

Key requirements

  • Financial industry knowledge preferred but not essential
  • Private Equity/Alternatives asset knowledge preferred but not essential
  • Experience managing, supporting, coaching, or training colleagues essential
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise and adapt
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across internal teams
  • Strong analytical skills to extract and evaluate data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; advanced Excel and experience with AI/automation or digital tools to improve processes desirable
