Overview
In this role you lead technical services across a diverse facilities portfolio, ensuring compliant and high-quality delivery. You’ll line up static and mobile engineering teams, manage performance, and drive continuous improvement within a matrix organisation. You’ll partner with clients and internal teams to sustain service performance, safety, and cost efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role with a focus on operational excellence and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Deliver top-tier technical service across sites while meeting contractual, statutory, and client requirements
- Plan, allocate and manage static and mobile engineering resources
- Oversee facilities management including maintenance, asset management, and service delivery
- Control overtime, budgets, and costs; ensure financial efficiency
- Maintain documentation and reporting using CAFM and mobile systems
- Monitor portfolio performance, subcontractor delivery, WIP and debt management
- Scope and support projects ensuring technical standards align with contracts
- Ensure QSHE compliance and service delivery assurance; support out-of-hours emergency response
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Act as escalation point to safeguard service delivery and teamwork
- Provide monthly performance review input with data analysis for decision-making and improvement
- Lead on project and programme delivery with emphasis on compliance and service quality
Key requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering
- IOSH Managing Safely (essential)
- NEBOSH (desirable)
- Experience in technical service management within facilities management or infrastructure
- Multi-site team leadership (static and mobile) and client-facing service delivery
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, building services, and asset management
- Experience managing budgets, overtime, and subcontractor performance
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building
- Team leadership and collaboration across cross-functional groups
- Proficient in CAFM systems and mobile technology
- Excellent technical capacity across multiple disciplines
- Ability to progress reactive, remedial, and complex projects
