Senior Project Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead end-to-end delivery of complex, high-value IT infrastructure projects within a secure Defence environment. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage dependencies, and ensure secure, high-quality outcomes that align with governance and regulatory requirements. You’ll act as the senior liaison to customers and stakeholders, driving decision-making and delivery momentum. The position is on-site in Basingstoke and requires MoD DV clearance, with a clear potential to influence programme success and security posture.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex IT infrastructure projects from planning to handover
• Own scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, dependencies and change
• Provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects and security teams
• Act as key point of contact for customers and senior stakeholders
• Lead governance and assurance activities with delivery plans, financial reporting and RAID management
• Identify and manage technical and delivery dependencies; address risks and blockers
• Ensure compliance with security, quality and operational requirements in a highly secure environment
• Build and maintain relationships across customer, technical and delivery teams

Key requirements

• Proven experience delivering complex IT infrastructure projects in Defence, National Security or similarly secure environments
• Full delivery lifecycle ownership including scope, schedules, budgets and dependencies
• Strong collaboration with technical specialists, architects and engineering teams
• Knowledge of project governance, assurance and delivery controls in regulated environments
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders and driving informed decisions
• Financial acumen including budget management, forecasting and supplier management
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and maintain momentum in complex settings
