Overview

As Director in Baringa’s Governance, Risk & Compliance practice, you will lead large-scale risk and regulatory transformation programs for financial services clients. You will advise senior boards on risk strategy, governance and control effectiveness, and shape enterprise risk frameworks and operating models. You will identify opportunities, nurture senior relationships, and contribute to thought leadership. This role offers impact across risk domains while progressing toward equity partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale risk, regulation and compliance transformation programmes for Financial Services clients
  • Advise boards and senior risk leaders on risk strategy, governance, and controls
  • Design and implement enterprise-wide risk frameworks and control environments
  • Lead engagements across operational, regulatory, non-financial, or financial risk areas (treasury & liquidity focus)
  • Originate and grow new opportunities within client accounts and drive practice growth
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across UK Financial Services
  • Contribute to development of propositions, IP, and thought leadership
  • Support growth of AI governance, AI risk management, and digital asset risk capabilities
  • Coach and develop consultants and future leaders
  • Shape long-term strategic direction toward equity Partner
  • Act as trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders
  • Support succession planning and capability development

Key requirements

  • Broad governance, risk & compliance expertise across multiple risk areas
  • Experience in enterprise risk management, risk governance, and risk transformation
  • Knowledge of regulatory change and controls assurance
  • Experience with treasury and liquidity risk is a plus
  • Strong client leadership and business development experience
  • Credibility with C-suite, Board and senior executives
  • Well-established relationships in UK Financial Services
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and complex programs
  • Proven track record of growing strategic accounts
