Overview

In this role you will drive the labour services procurement strategy across Tesco’s retail, distribution and subsidiaries. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to build category plans for security labour, ensuring value, compliance and alignment with Tesco’s objectives. You’ll lead high-value, complex procurement programs and multi-million-pound tenders, negotiating with suppliers and guiding cross-functional teams. This is an opportunity to shape procurement for a large, multinational retailer and to contribute to responsible, value-driven sourcing at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver savings targets through robust sourcing events and value-driven supplier selection
  • Strengthen supplier and stakeholder relationships to execute category plans and drive innovation
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Tesco objectives
  • Write and deliver the Labour Services procurement category plan
  • Implement robust contracts and monitor sub-category savings against targets
  • Lead supplier reviews and escalate contract-related issues as needed
  • Assess scale opportunities and collaborate with Tesco International teams and subsidiaries
  • Work with the Ethics team to ensure regulatory compliance and lead Modern Day Slavery audits
  • Review suppliers for sustainability and minimising risk while optimising service
  • Build and manage supplier relationships to maximise value and integrity

Key requirements

  • Strong communication and relationship-building with internal stakeholders
  • Procurement management, contract management and negotiation skills
  • Experience of managing large multi-million pound sourcing events
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of market factors impacting procurement
  • Drive, resilience and ability to see projects through to completion
  • Ability to influence and bring in new concepts with senior colleagues
  • Capability to lead multiple projects and drive category-wide innovation
