As a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer in Arup’s Leeds PS&I team, you lead major structural packages or smaller projects, delivering technically robust designs within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You work closely with project directors and engineers to balance technical excellence with commercial awareness, contributing to high-profile heritage, rail, commercial, and industrial schemes. You’ll shape solutions from concept to practical completion, aligning with Arup’s purpose to shape a better world. Responsibilities

• Lead structural packages on major projects or manage smaller projects end-to-end
• Collaborate with project directors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver designs
• Demonstrate strong technical design and problem-solving across stages
• Balance technical deliverables with commercial awareness and project constraints
• Provide guidance to engineers and technicians within the team
• Develop and maintain client-facing communication and documentation
• Support professional development and contribute to project success

Key requirements

• Chartered status with IStructE, ICE or equivalent
• Enthusiastic, collaborative engineer with excellent design and technical skills
• Strong software and modelling capability in a structural context
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Experience leading or supervising in multidisciplinary design environments
• Location: Leeds (willingness to work across projects in the region)
