Head of Management Accounting

Overview

As Head of Management Accounting you will lead the function that delivers accurate management accounts, budgets, and forecasts to drive informed decisions across the business. You will supervise the Management Accounting team, enhance reporting and systems, and translate data into actionable commercial insight. You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Innovation to support sustainable performance and better decision making. This role offers scope to shape financial reporting, performance management, and team development within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Management Accounting team and ensure accurate, timely management accounts, budgets and latest estimates
• Strengthen reporting, optimise systems and processes
• Turn complex data into meaningful commercial insight for cross-functional decision making
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Innovation & Development to support business decisions and performance
• Deliver high quality management reporting and analysis to support risk understanding and confident action
• Develop brand, customer and channel profitability analysis and explain variances
• Improve reporting processes including off-invoice discount analysis and accruals
• Develop and coach team members across varying experience levels

Key requirements

• Strong management accounting experience (at least 3 years post qualified)
• Commercial experience and a track record of producing high quality accounts, budgets, forecasts and analysis
• People leadership and team development experience
• Analytical skills, numeracy and IT capability; experience with integrated systems a plus
• Clear, influential communication with ability to challenge and influence stakeholders
• Team player with resilience, curiosity, attention to detail and decisive mindset
