Overview
In this role you will shape enterprise software experiences across discovery, design and delivery, collaborating with cross-functional squads to translate user needs into tangible product outcomes. You’ll map journeys, create wireframes and prototypes, and guide design decisions with qualitative and quantitative insights. This position sits within National Grid’s mission to enable a sustainable energy future and offers flexible hybrid working from Warwick. You will partner with Product Owner, Business Analyst and Tech Lead to ensure solutions are desirable, usable and feasible at scale.

- salary 57,000 – 67,000

Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Owner, Business Analyst and Tech Lead to define product outcomes
- Map end-to-end user journeys and identify pain points and opportunities
- Translate requirements into clear problem statements and experience opportunities
- Conduct discovery, usability evaluation and risk assessment early
- Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes
- Prepare final visual design and hand-offs to engineering
- Iterate designs based on user feedback and stakeholder input
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to justify design choices and trade-offs
Key requirements
- 5+ years in user experience design, digital product design or strategy
- Experience designing for enterprise/B2B software with complex workflows and multiple user types
- Strong UI design portfolio with end-to-end delivery
- Proficiency in Figma (component libraries, variants, prototyping)
- Experience developing and maintaining design systems and pattern libraries
- Experience with UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, HotJar or Pendo
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication to convey design rationale to product and engineering
- Autonomy, ability to manage ambiguity and multi-task delivery priorities
- Comfort using AI tools in design workflow while maintaining quality
