Overview
In this role you will lead multidisciplinary design input for critical infrastructure projects, ensuring buildable, compliant and innovative solutions. You’ll work closely with clients and the Project Manager to guide the design process and manage interfaces from concept to delivery. Responsibilities
- Manage contract with external design consultants and contractors to ensure duties are fulfilled under the contract
- Lead technical assurance, review constructability and guide design interfaces
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams from consultants and partner companies
- Collaborate with clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Contractors and Consultants on project issues, scope changes and risks
- Drive development of innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions meeting requirements
- Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into all designs
- Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical functions
- Ensure constructability, maintainability and reliability across the asset lifecycle
Key requirements
- Strong experience managing design through the full project lifecycle across sectors and procurement routes
- Solid understanding of integrated design delivery and managing consultant performance
- Knowledge and experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered Engineer status (preferred) with professional bodies such as CIBSE or IET
- Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD or Revit)
