Overview

As Quality and Contracts Manager, you lead a team of Quality Officers to oversee the quality, performance and contractual compliance of commissioned care and support providers. You will blend contract management, quality assurance and market oversight to drive improvements, manage risk and ensure value for money. You’ll build provider relationships and work with health partners to address complex issues and shape a resilient local care market. This role offers scope to influence strategy, lead change and deliver measurable outcomes for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead provider contract management ensuring obligations, quality standards and performance are met
  • Manage complex provider performance, quality and contractual issues with risk escalation
  • Lead conversations with providers and stakeholders on quality, performance, compliance or value for money concerns
  • Lead and support a team of Quality Officers with prioritisation and risk management
  • Oversee contract management, quality monitoring and performance improvement across commissioned providers
  • Lead or support complex provider reviews, quality investigations and improvement programmes
  • Analyse performance, quality and market intelligence to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Build partnerships with providers, health colleagues, regulators and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to market development, commissioning initiatives and commercial improvement activities
  • Deputise for senior leadership when required

Key requirements

  • Significant experience in commissioning, contract management, quality assurance or related health and social care setting
  • Experience managing teams and staff development
  • Strong knowledge of health and social care services, quality standards and relevant legislation
  • Experience monitoring provider performance, managing risk and driving service improvement
  • Experience managing complex provider relationships and leading challenging conversations
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret performance, quality and financial information
  • Ability to make balanced decisions under scrutiny
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience; professional qualification desirable
  • Good ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and performance monitoring systems
