In this role you will design HV substations and provide engineering input for major infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland. Responsibilities

  • Create primary plant layouts for HV substations
  • Develop specifications for HV plant and related equipment
  • Provide engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
  • Serve as Owners’ Engineer on HV substation, cable, and OHL projects
  • Contribute HV design input to renewable energy projects (battery storage, solar, hydro, wind)
  • Deliver professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas

Key requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience on HV projects
  • Experience with major utilities or developers
  • Experience as a designer or project engineer
  • Experience developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience in technical report writing
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle for site visits
  • Ideally multi-discipline project exposure
  • Ideally Chartered or working toward status
  • Ideally consultancy experience
  • Ideally experience reviewing detailed designs & witnessing construction activities
