Clinical/Counselling Psychologist – Adult Community

Overview

In this role you will join our Adult Community Psychological (ACP) services to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed mental health care across MDTs in Colchester and Tendring. You will work with service users, carers and partner organisations to provide specialist psychological interventions and contribute to programme management. Expect complex cases, risk-aware practice, and opportunities to supervise development while progressing through a supportive career pathway. This position combines clinical delivery with multi-disciplinary collaboration to shape care across the community.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and become proficient in one or more specialist evidence-based psychological interventions (e.g., EMDR, DBT, CAT, Schema Therapy)
• Contribute to the management and running of therapeutic programmes
• Engage in multi-disciplinary treatment planning and build respectful, collegial relationships across disciplines
• Conduct psychological assessments and develop clinical formulations
• Provide consultations and support for high-risk cases
• Collaborate with colleagues, service users, carers and partner organisations across MDTs
• Support service development and delivery of trauma-informed care across the community
• Work across bases in Colchester and Tendring with flexible location based on client/service need

Key requirements

• Doctorate qualification (or equivalent) in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
• Current registration with HCPC
• Relevant NHS mental health service experience
