Overview
In this role you will supervise a small team and manage a complex caseload to secure suitable homes for children in care. You will contribute to high professional standards across the social services brokerage and collaborate with commissioners and care providers on strategic initiatives. You will share specialist knowledge to support good practice, provide consultation and mentoring, and lead quality assurance for contracted providers. This role combines casework, staff development, and cross-team influence to improve outcomes for children and families.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise a small number of non-social work staff
- Manage a caseload of complex housing searches for children in care
- Oversee quality assurance of providers contracted by the council
- Support the Team Manager in maintaining and developing high professional standards
- Apply specialist social work knowledge with children and families across the brokerage service
- Represent the service in developing key service provisions or local strategic initiatives with commissioners and care providers
- Develop skills and knowledge across a range of practice issues; provide consultation, coaching and mentoring
- Support team development and recruitment processes
