Overview

In this role you will lead civil engineering efforts within AECOM’s Renewable Energy team, spanning the UK, Ireland and broader EMEA regions. You will drive project delivery, develop client relationships and elevate the team’s technical capabilities. You will oversee multi-disciplinary design for renewable energy infrastructure and act as Lead Verifier on structural studies and reports. You will mentor staff and guide projects from feasibility to construction across wind, solar, hydro, hydrogen and energy storage. This position offers impactful, global-scale infrastructure work with a meaningful sustainability focus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project delivery and maintain client relationships within renewable energy projects
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary design of renewable energy infrastructure
  • Review and generate technical and contractual information from internal and external sources
  • Liaise with clients and manage daily project work within timescale and budget
  • Respond to technical queries from project teams
  • Act as Lead Verifier on projects for feasibility studies and design reports (lead structural engineering)
  • Direct staff and mentor graduate engineers
  • Lead engineering teams across wind, solar, hydroelectric, grid connection, hydrogen, and BESS initiatives

Key requirements

  • BEng (Hons) degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Chartered status or actively working towards chartership
  • CDAE certification is advantageous
