Alpha Platform Business Risk Management, Assistant Vice President

Overview

In this role, you will help identify and govern business and technology risks as part of State Street’s BRM team. You will partner with colleagues to assess controls, design remediation, and support risk programs across the organization. The role offers exposure to governance activities, internal/external reviews, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment. You will contribute to risk excellence and help scale risk management practices.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess risks and controls across business and technology processes
• Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness through periodic reviews
• Self-identify and help the business identify control issues; draft remediation plans and monitor progress
• Advise on risk and control design, especially with new technologies and processes
• Support risk programs: risk reviews, reporting, governance, issue/incident management, and control monitoring
• Coordinate and prepare for internal and external reviews (2nd line assessments, internal audits, regulatory examinations)
• Escalate violations of rules, regulations, policies, or procedures and recommend actions
• Coordinate stakeholders to execute responsibilities; train colleagues in State Street methodologies
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the Business Risk function

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related field
• Proficiency in risk management
• Knowledge of COSO, COBIT, NIST, ISO frameworks
• Experience with Microsoft tools, Archer platform, Open Pages, Tableau, SharePoint
• Preferred certifications: CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP
