Digital Programme Manager

Overview

In this role you lead the delivery of digital programmes and projects across the Trust, ensuring benefits are realised for patients and staff. You will assemble and guide large multidisciplinary teams, align delivery with strategic goals, and manage dependencies between projects. You will collaborate with digital and clinical stakeholders to drive impactful digital solutions while maintaining high-quality, patient-centric service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of IT programmes and projects with long timelines and broad staff impact
• Build and manage large, multi-functional teams (30–50 staff)
• Define delivery strategy aligned to organisational goals
• Identify programme benefits and ensure delivery via projects
• Coordinate dependencies between projects to meet strategic objectives
• Provide professional programme and project management for applications, systems and technology solutions
• Apply digital knowledge to deploy solutions and manage lifecycle documentation
• Contribute to system procurements and supplier evaluations
• Maintain strong stakeholder communications and reporting
• Collaborate with Digital management team to deliver a high-quality service
• Liaise with other Trusts and health communities for digital services across sites
• Support operational change management from new digital deployments
• Conduct technical investigations and impact assessments on supplier products and plans

Key requirements

• Proven delivery of high-profile programmes and projects
• Experience leading large projects and teams
• Extensive project management experience
• Experience in implementing organisational change
• NHS environment experience (desirable)
• Be able to manage large-scale digital projects and understand NHS digital issues
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• MS Office and MS Project proficiency
• Ability to balance competing project requirements and strategic overview
