FPGA Design Team Lead

Overview

In this role, you lead a growing digital design team to deliver high-performance Layer 1 FPGA IP for satellite-based connectivity. You translate product requirements into robust hardware solutions while guiding both technical direction and delivery across hardware, software, and system teams. You mentor engineers, refine design processes, and influence the company’s evolving product portfolio. This is a chance to shape cutting-edge space-based 5G technology and influence cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the FPGA/digital design team
• Define the technical roadmap for high-performance Layer 1 IP
• Deliver complex FPGA/ASIC projects end-to-end
• Collaborate with algorithm, system architecture, software, and senior leadership teams
• Mentor and coach engineers, improve design methodologies
• Shape hardware processes used across the function
• Contribute to customer discussions and product portfolio evolution

Key requirements

• Proven experience leading FPGA/digital design teams
• Expert RTL design using Verilog or SystemVerilog
• Strong FPGA and/or ASIC development experience
• Experience with DSP or high-throughput signal processing architectures
• Strong understanding of synthesis, timing analysis, and hardware optimisation
• Experience delivering complex IP across the full development lifecycle
• Strong technical leadership and project delivery skills
• Experience with 5G/communications DSP, UVM, AMBA, PCIe, JESD, C++/SystemC, or satellite communications would be advantageous
