Overview
In this role you act as the technical lead for post-construction assurance within the Shafts & Headhouses delivery unit, guiding the completion phase after steel frame erection. You will plan, coordinate, and report on assurance activities, interfacing with suppliers and the delivery team to support critical-path tasks. You’ll work within a safety- and quality-focused culture on HS2’s London Tunnels project, shaping how records, surveys, and asset trackers inform an agile asset lookahead. Responsibilities
- Develop a technical assurance flowchart and work package breakdown aligned with construction leads
- Maintain asset trackers and ensure the Computerised Derivative Environment (CDE) reflects current plans
- Create and manage an assurance lookahead programme for each work package and report weekly with mitigations
Key requirements
- Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering with vocational training
- Main contractor and major project experience desirable
- Knowledge of construction contract law and contract forms
- Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, document control system) and Primavera
- Relevant CSCS Card
- Health & Safety and Environmental management training
- Understanding of Client and JV Environment and Sustainability policies
- Experience with temporary works and earthworks (preferred)
