Overview
As Technical Lead you will act as the engineering interface for a cross‑functional squad, balancing hands‑on development with leadership through influence. You shape technical direction, govern delivery plans, and drive quality, security and observability across services. You’ll collaborate with Product, Architecture, QE and SRE/Platform teams to deliver reliable, scalable software for healthcare education and EHR-related workflows. This role offers impact through technical mentoring and system-wide improvements.

Responsibilities
- Serve as first line technical escalation for squad services/components
- Facilitate ceremonies focused on flow and outcomes
- Translate product objectives into technical designs and measurable stories
- Design and implement complex features and fix performance issues
- Define/maintain Definition of Ready/Done including code quality, tests, security, observability
- Establish/maintain CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and release strategies
- Drive a pragmatic quality strategy including test pyramid and contract tests
- Partner with TIO on SLOs, alerting, runbooks, incident response, and post‑incident learning
Key requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading through influence (tech lead, feature lead, guild lead, etc.)
- Strong track record in distributed services, data platforms, or high‑throughput apps
- Advanced knowledge of Agile/Lean practices
- Experience with test strategy, test automation, CI/CD quality gates, and release readiness
- Proficiency in Java/JVM, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET/C#, Python, C/C++, SQL, Linux or Windows
- Experience with relational and non-relational data stores, performance tuning, data modelling
- Knowledge of CI/CD platforms, containers, cloud technologies, observability, and monitoring
- Understanding of secure coding, performance, reliability engineering, incident response
