Overview
In this Private Client Partner role, you will lead a busy practice within a private client department at a top UK law firm, handling wills, trusts and estate planning for individuals, families and trustees. You will nurture client relationships, drive new business, and mentor junior lawyers to grow the department. You’ll ensure regulatory compliance while shaping client service and cross‑firm collaboration. This is an opportunity to influence private client strategy and contribute to the firm’s growth in the Midlands and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a diverse caseload of private client matters (wills, trusts, estate planning, probate)
- Provide high-quality legal advice to individuals, families and trustees
- Develop and manage client relationships and contribute to business development
- Lead and mentor junior lawyers and support staff
- Ensure compliance with regulations and firm policies
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm
- Support growth of the private client department through networking opportunities
- Guide and mentor junior team members to foster an inclusive working environment
Key requirements
- Qualified solicitor with at least 6 years’ PQE
- Substantial private client experience
- Proven track record in complex private client matters and client service
- Experience in or with Midlands private client teams
- Strong business development and networking skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities
