Overview

In this role you will lead the delivery of a capital programme for a major UK water client. You interface between the area delivery team and the business at a senior level, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, on-time, within-budget project outcomes. You engage across the project lifecycle, drive design development, manage contracts, and uphold strict safety and environmental standards. The role offers the chance to shape large-scale infrastructure delivery within a values-driven consultancy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of a capital programme through the project lifecycle from concept to closeout
  • Manage project plans, progress, interdependencies, and risk mitigation to achieve milestones
  • Oversee contract administration (NEC3/4) and produce specifications, tender docs, and risk registers
  • Coordinate design development and site activities, including surveys and works information aligned to business case
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, HSW, CDM 2015, water quality standards and statutory legislation
  • Manage multiple contractors and third-party relations, including planning applications and access negotiations
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement at senior levels and across client and partner teams
  • Monitor budgets, risks, and mitigations and support BU development and long-term value creation
  • Lead and motivate project teams and promote collaboration to meet KPIs
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, well-being, and inclusion across the team

Key requirements

  • Degree in engineering, construction and/or project management
  • PMQ (APM) qualification
  • Experience in large/infrastructure projects, preferably in water utilities
  • Water sector experience preferred or regulated infrastructure environment
  • Digitally savvy with Oracle and Primavera P6
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong client relationship skills and ability to lead teams
  • Membership in a professional body (RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent)
