Infrastructure Support Analyst

Overview

In this role you will maintain and improve mission-critical infrastructure in a secure environment. You will join a close-knit, on-site team supporting 24/7 operations and drive operational excellence. You’ll handle incidents and changes, investigate issues, and contribute to service improvements and project work. The position offers structured training and a clear path to a permanent Portsmouth site role, within a high-stakes, nationally significant context.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage core IT infrastructure (networks, servers, storage, operating systems)
• Manage incidents, problems, requests, and changes in an ITIL-aligned framework
• Investigate and resolve technical issues and contribute to root-cause analysis
• Monitor live services to ensure performance against service levels
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements, projects, testing and release support
• Produce and maintain technical documentation for day-to-day operations

Key requirements

• Experience in infrastructure support or similar technical operations
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve complex issues
• Awareness of ITIL-based service management processes
• Experience working in structured, process-driven environments
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider technical team
