Overview

In this role you will partner with traders and finance teams to deliver insights on P&L, positions, risk and working capital within the Metals CFO team in London. You will work across Metals Product Control and Metals Operations to support decision-making and improve efficiency across the trade lifecycle. The role offers a chance to deepen your understanding of physical and financial metals trading while scaling capabilities through analytics, data management and automation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, strengthen controls and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with traders and commercial leaders to explain drivers of P&L and positions, highlight risks and support decision-making
  • Deliver analysis to improve understanding of performance, exposures, and portfolio dynamics
  • Build relationships across trading, finance, operations, and risk to connect financial results to commercial activity
  • Support integrity of the trading book through balance sheet substantiation and controls over positions, accruals, inventories, warrants, and margins
  • Identify control gaps in trade capture, valuation, and processes and implement improvements to reduce risk and improve efficiency
  • Assist with close processes by investigating exceptions and resolving discrepancies
  • Support settlements, reconciliations, contract administration, margining, warrant and physical processing, and client servicing
  • Collaborate with commercial and operations teams to address issues, improve reliability, and enhance client outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve workflows; support projects involving new products, reporting enhancements, process improvements, and operational capabilities

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to work with large datasets and reconcile complex positions
