Cloud FinOps Engineer

Overview

In this role you drive financial governance and optimization of our multi-cloud estate (Azure, AWS, GCP) to maximize business value. You partner with Cloud, Platform, Finance, and Procurement teams to ensure transparent costs, accurate allocations, and disciplined FinOps practices. You will build and monitor dashboards, forecasts, and cost models to support budgets and strategic decisions. Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain cloud financial governance processes and standards; ensure accurate cost allocation to products, apps, business units, and cost centers
• Manage chargeback/showback/c cost allocation models and validate ownership and tagging controls
• Identify and drive cloud cost optimization across Azure, AWS, and GCP; implement rightsizing, storage and licensing optimizations
• Develop and maintain executive, operational, and financial dashboards for various stakeholders; produce regular and ad-hoc cost and forecast reporting
• Develop and maintain cloud expenditure forecasts; collaborate with Finance for budgets, forecasts, and financial planning
• Mine and analyze cloud billing data; perform spend anomaly analysis and build models to improve visibility into consumption
• Manage reservation and savings plan programs; conduct monthly utilization reviews and optimize coverage
• Provide financial input to vendor negotiations and contract renewals; support procurement with commercial analysis
• Govern marketplace purchases and ensure alignment with budgets and approvals
• Maintain shared services cost allocation methodologies and recharge models; ensure allocation accuracy

Key requirements

• Strong experience in Cloud FinOps, ITFM, TBM or related disciplines
• Hands-on with Azure and/or AWS (large-scale enterprise environments)
• Experience with cloud cost management tools (Apptio, Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer/CUR)
• Financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis of large datasets
• Advanced Excel/Power BI skills; budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and executive reporting
• Stakeholder management and ability to communicate financial concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
