Construction Assurance Manager

Overview

In this role you will provide client-side assurance for HS2 civil engineering works, with a strong on-site presence. You will monitor contractor safety and quality, verifying adherence to approved plans and documentation. You’ll engage with site teams to ensure activities align with ITPs, WPPs, CPPs and RAMs, and you will flag unsafe practices or deviations. This position offers front-line impact on major civils delivery and a clear view of how safety, quality, and process discipline shape project success.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify contractor documentation (ITPs, WPPs, CPPs, RAMs)
• Monitor on-site safety and quality compliance by contractors
• Identify and report unsafe practices or deviations from approved methodologies
• Challenge discrepancies in construction processes and ensure adherence to plans
• Engage with site teams to verify activities are performed as specified

Key requirements

• Experience as Construction Manager, General Foreman, or Engineer
• Experience in major civils projects (rail, road, earthworks, drainage, etc.)
• SMSTS and CSCS certifications
• Knowledge of CDM regulations; experience with ITPs, WPPs, CPPs, RAMs
• Valid UK driving license; team-oriented approach
