Overview

As Practice Manager, you will lead the operational and commercial side of Great Chapel Street Medical Centre, ensuring safe, responsive care for patients and smooth running of the practice. You’ll guide the team, oversee HR, finances and governance, and collaborate with external partners and commissioners to sustain services. You will support digital systems, service development and continuous improvement to meet regulatory duties. This hands-on role sits at the heart of a trauma-informed, homelessness-focused clinic with a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary teamwork and community impact. You will be on-site, engaging with patients and staff to drive meaningful, value-aligned change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and staff development within budget
  • Oversee contracts, performance against requirements, and financial reporting
  • Support business planning, governance, and policy development
  • Manage information governance, IT systems, data quality, and security
  • Lead on health and safety, premises management, and procurement
  • Represent the practice in external meetings and partnerships
  • Support patient-facing processes and respond to concerns or complaints
  • Coordinate with directors and partners to ensure service sustainability and improvement

Key requirements

  • Experience managing a healthcare service or GP practice
  • Budget management and financial information handling
  • Policies and procedures development and implementation
  • Staff management including recruitment and development
  • Experience with external organisations, commissioners or partners
  • Experience handling complaints and challenging situations
  • Good IT and digital skills
