Operations Director

Overview

In this role, you will lead the London office of a respected building services consultancy, guiding MEP design teams across commercial, life sciences, and data centre projects. You will partner with the UK Director to drive growth and maintain high technical and operational performance. You’ll balance client-facing duties with team leadership to optimise project delivery and efficiency. This is an opportunity to shape a fast-growing division focused on sustainable, high-performance real estate.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop large MEP design teams within a consultancy setting
• Support and collaborate with each team Director on growth, efficiencies, and performance
• Manage growth while ensuring technical quality and project delivery standards
• Maintain strong client-facing engagement to uphold service levels and satisfaction
• Contribute to division-wide strategy alongside UK Director to scale operations over 4 years

Key requirements

• Extensive MEP design team management experience in consultancies
• Experience in client-facing roles
• Experience with high performing buildings; data centres, labs, or commercial projects
• Strong commercial acumen
• Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Passion for building services engineering design and sustainable real estate
