Project Safety Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead health and safety across housing capital programmes, planned works, repairs and maintenance. You will work closely with housing professionals to ensure compliance and safe delivery on construction projects. The role combines safety leadership with coaching and quality assurance, supporting public sector project delivery within a housing assets context. You will shape safety standards and drive continuous improvement in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety compliance across capital programmes, planned works, repairs and maintenance activities
• Manage health and safety on construction projects
• Lead, motivate and communicate effectively with teams
• Coach and develop colleagues within the team
• Support quality assurance and budget management on public sector projects

Key requirements

• Sound knowledge of the construction industry and CDM Regulations
• Current health and safety qualifications (NEBOSH and SMSTS)
• Level 4 qualification in a related field
• Ability to lead, motivate and communicate with teams
• Experience of quality assurance and budget management on public sector projects
