Principal, Business Development Manager, AWS Private Equity

Overview

As Principal Business Development Manager on the AWS Private Equity team, you will lead AWS relationships with PE firms to accelerate adoption of AWS across portfolio companies, with a focus on digital transformation. You’ll shape and execute a PE-driven strategy, engaging executive leadership, and coordinating with sales, partners, and product teams. You will manage multiple engagements, provide strategic and technical guidance, and help scale AWS within the PE ecosystem. Responsibilities

• Drive market and technical strategy as a core member of the Business Development team
• Identify infrastructure needs within PE portfolio companies and initiate PE-driven engagement
• Execute a strategic BD plan aligned with internal stakeholders (sales, partners, marketing, support)
• Collaborate with PE firms and portfolio leadership to maximize benefit from AWS web services and resources
• Utilize Analytics tools and internal Amazon systems to inform decisions
• Present business reviews to AWS senior leadership on progress and blockers in PE engagement
• Serve as primary liaison to the PE community representing AWS and Amazon
• Manage high-volume, concurrent engagements and scale with GenAI and cloud computing
• Maintain sufficient technical literacy to differentiate AWS services in core areas (databases, distributed computing, cloud, storage, CDN, GenAI)

Key requirements

• Experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements
• Experience shaping strategies influencing organizational leadership decisions
• Experience with Core Cloud Technology Services (Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, Networking)
• Background in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting
• Experience with Enterprise Application Modernization and Migration technologies (Mainframe, Serverless, Containers, Cloud Operations)
• Experience with Data & AI technologies (AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, Storage)
• Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, or marketing
• Experience or familiarity with PE or VC environments is a plus
