The Role

n

n

An established construction contractor specialising in commercial fit-out, refurbishment and bespoke joinery projects is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager.

n

n

The Site Manager will take day-to-day responsibility for the safe and efficient running of construction sites, coordinating subcontractors, direct labour, materials and site activities to ensure projects are delivered to programme and to a high standard.

n

n

The role would suit a hands-on Site Manager with a strong background in refurbishment, fit-out, interiors or joinery who takes pride in delivering quality work.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
• Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction sites.

n

• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, direct labour and suppliers.

n

• Manage works against the agreed construction programme.

n

• Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

n

• Maintain high standards of workmanship across the site.

n

• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings as required.

n

• Ensure compliance with company health & safety procedures and current legislation.

n

• Maintain accurate site records, diaries and progress information.

n

• Coordinate deliveries, materials and site logistics.

n

• Monitor subcontractor performance and productivity.

n

• Identify potential programme or construction issues and report these to the Project Manager.

n

• Liaise with clients, consultants and other stakeholders on site.

n

• Manage snagging and ensure defects are closed out promptly.

n

• Coordinate specialist joinery installation and finishing packages where required.

n

• Maintain a clean, organised and professional site environment.

n

• Support successful project completion and handover.

Candidate Requirements

n

n

The ideal candidate will have:

n

n
• Previous experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry.

n

• Experience within commercial fit-out, refurbishment, interiors and/or joinery projects.

n

• Strong knowledge of construction processes and sequencing.

n

• Excellent organisational and site coordination skills.

n

• The ability to effectively manage subcontractors and trades.

n

• A strong focus on quality and attention to detail.

n

• Good communication and client-facing skills.

n

• A thorough understanding of construction health & safety.

n

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

n

• SMSTS or SSSTS.

n

• CSCS.

n

• First Aid certification would be advantageous.

n

• Full UK driving licence.

n

n
