While you will be based in the Edinburgh office with regular travel to our sites across Scotland.

Your home could be across the Central Belt.

The role would ideally suit an individual with Quantity Surveying experience gained within a main contractor or housebuilder environment, with a strong understanding of cost management, valuations, value engineering and wider commercial matters.
n
Some project management experience would be advantageous, although it is not essential. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is commercially minded, proactive and keen to take ownership, make a meaningful contribution and play an important role in the continued growth of the business.

Duties, Responsibilities & Requirements
n
This is a wide-ranging and varied role, working directly on the client/developer side. You will liaise closely with our internal team, which is a critical part of the role, as well as our external design team, consultants, contractors and other key stakeholders.
n
You will become an integral part of a close-knit, motivated and multi-skilled team, where each individual brings significant value to the business through their expertise and experience. Working closely with the Knight Property Group team, your responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing pricing and tender documentation and assisting with the tendering process.
- Providing and/or supporting cost estimates, tender preparation, bid analysis, contract and commercial negotiations and project feasibility studies.
- Monitoring and overseeing valuations, cost tracking, change management and financial reporting to the Board, together with involvement in final accounts
- Reviewing contractor valuations and variations, providing commercial and value-management input where required.
- Working within agreed project budgets and highlighting potential risks, cost pressures and other factors that may impact on budget.
- Providing pricing, cost and commercial input across development projects and property works.
- Working collaboratively with the internal team, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered effectively and commercially.

Requirements:

- Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Project.
- Must be proactive and possess a “can do” attitude and be able to deal with issues reactively.
- Ability to build positive relationships with our design team, contractors, sub-contractors and supply chain and stakeholders.
