CCTV Systems Designer

Location and Working Pattern

• Based in Derby
• Full-time, 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys to assess CCTV and security requirements
• Develop CCTV layouts and complete design packs
• Specify cameras, recording systems, and network infrastructure
• Produce practical, compliant designs based on customer requirements
• Support technical queries and provide guidance during installation and commissioning
• Contribute to design reviews and ensure quality standards throughout project delivery
• Maintain accurate project documentation and design records

Must-have Requirements

• Proven experience in CCTV system design
• Competent user of AutoCAD or similar design software
• Strong understanding of camera selection, coverage calculations, recording systems, and network integration
• Ability to interpret client requirements into compliant, practical solutions
• Experience supporting installation teams and commissioning

Nice-to-have Skills

• Knowledge of CCTV standards (including BS EN 62676), data protection requirements, and security best practices
• Relevant qualifications in CCTV, security systems, or electrical/design disciplines
• Familiarity with electronic security and integration projects
