Principal Consultant-Workday Finance-UK

Overview

In this role you will lead Workday Finance engagements to optimize financial operations and deliver actionable insights. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, configure, and deploy Workday solutions, ensuring data integrity and alignment with business goals. You act as a thought leader in architecture and design reviews, driving pursuit initiatives and capability building. This position offers impact across finance processes and a path to shape consulting solutions for global clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage and configure Workday Financial Management modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management, Projects, Procurement, Expenses, Adaptive Planning, Accounting Center, Consolidation)
• Design, build, test Workday configurations and business processes; analyze release notes and implement new functionalities
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and escalate as needed
• Provide end-user support and training; translate business requirements into functional specs
• Develop reports, dashboards, and KPIs in Workday; conduct data analysis and audits
• Collaborate on project delivery, align with cross-functional teams, and support go-live activities
• Lead design sessions and configuration decisions; mentor junior team members
• Anchor business pursuit initiatives and contribute to client training and capability building

Key requirements

• Minimum 9 years of experience as Workday/ERP Financial Consultant
• Strong understanding of financial processes (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, GL, Budgeting)
• Proven ability to manage and optimize Workday ERP systems
• Workday Financials certification highly desired (e.g., RTR, P2P, Sourcing, Contracts, Projects)
• Proficiency in financial data analysis and interpretation of complex data
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and data accuracy
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work in fast-paced environments
• Experience with Agile or Waterfall project methodologies (Lead/Consultant)
• Knowledge of Workday Security is a plus
