construction.Senior Quantity Surveyor The Role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction handover through to final account.Working closely with the Contracts Managers, Site Managers, clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, you will ensure projects are commercially controlled while maintaining the exceptional quality standards expected across the business.You will manage budgets, procurement, valuations, variations, cash flow, forecasting and final accounts, while identifying and managing commercial risk throughout the project lifecycle.The role will predominantly be based from the company’s Wiltshire office, with travel to projects as required.Senior Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities Take commercial responsibility for high-end residential, heritage, restoration and bespoke new-build projectsManage projects commercially from pre-construction handover through to final accountManage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, costs and commercial reportingIdentify, monitor and manage commercial and contractual riskManage subcontractor procurement, tendering and negotiationPrepare and manage subcontractor valuations, payments, variations and final accountsManage client applications, variations and commercial submissionsPrepare and issue contractual notices where requiredEnsure compliance with JCT contracts and internal commercial proceduresWork closely with Contracts Managers and Site Managers to monitor project performanceProvide clear commercial guidance to operational project teamsDevelop value engineering and procurement strategies to improve commercial performanceBuild strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliersSupport the Commercial Director with commercial strategy and resource planningMentor and support Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors within the teamSenior Quantity Surveyor About You We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with the commercial capability to take ownership of projects and operate confidently with clients, consultants and project teams.Experience within high-end residential, heritage, restoration or traditional construction would be particularly advantageous, although individuals from strong main contracting backgrounds delivering high-quality projects will also be considered.You should have:Proven experience operating as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity SurveyorStrong understanding of JCT contracts and commercial processesExperience managing projects from procurement through to final accountStrong subcontractor procurement and negotiation experienceExperience managing valuations, variations and contractual noticesExcellent cost management, forecasting and reporting capabilitiesStrong commercial awareness and understanding of project riskAbility to commercially manage multiple projects simultaneouslyConfident client-facing and communication skillsDegree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related disciplineStrong Microsoft Excel and general IT skillsFull UK driving licenceSenior Quantity Surveyor The Company Our
