Role Description
Arcadis is seeking a Monitoring Surveyor (Consultant or Senior Consultant) to join our Lenders & Investors Transaction Advisory team, specialising in data centre and mission‑critical developments.
You will support the delivery of development monitoring and technical due diligence commissions for lenders, investors and funding stakeholders across the UK, Europe and international markets. This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist data centre expertise while working on complex digital infrastructure projects.
Role Accountabilities
- Deliver development monitoring and technical due diligence commissions across data centre and digital infrastructure projects.
- Review project budgets, cost plans, programmes, procurement strategies, contracts and key project documentation.
- Identify and report risks relating to cost, programme, planning, utilities, procurement, quality and delivery.
- Assess data centre-specific risks including power, cooling, MEP integration, commissioning and operational readiness.
- Prepare monitoring reports, progress updates and funding recommendations.
- Undertake site inspections and monitor progress against programme, budget and funding conditions.
- Review drawdown requests, cost reports, change control and cash flow information.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary technical inputs to provide integrated advice.
- Support client meetings, technical reviews and business development activities.
- At Senior Consultant level, support the delivery of smaller commissions or defined workstreams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- MRICS qualified, working towards MRICS, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Experience in development monitoring, technical due diligence, quantity surveying, cost consultancy, project management or a related consultancy discipline.
- Experience of data centres, mission‑critical facilities, industrial developments or other complex MEP‑led projects is advantageous.
- Understanding of construction delivery, procurement routes, contracts, project controls and development funding structures.
- Ability to assess project information, identify risks and produce concise written reports.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
