Lead C# Developer .Net – FinTech

Overview

In this Lead C# role you drive the architecture and delivery of a flagship desktop platform within a global fintech. You lead agile teams to build secure, scalable features that handle high traffic, balancing performance with maintainability. You collaborate closely with Product and other tech squads to shape technical direction and deliver impactful enhancements. This position offers leadership without formal people management, a hands-on ownership mindset, and a chance to influence critical systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead three Agile teams (≈10 engineers) and own feature delivery for the flagship desktop platform
• Architect, design and develop new features with a focus on security, reliability, maintainability, usability and performance
• Collaborate with Product Owner and cross-team stakeholders to influence design decisions and provide technical ownership in an Agile environment
• Drive best practices in software engineering, including clean, reusable code and modern Microsoft practices
• Support and improve the platform to scale to billions of requests per month

Key requirements

• Expertise with C# .Net Core backend development on large, scalable systems
• Strong technical leadership focusing on feature ownership (not people management)
• Collaborative, pragmatic, able to push back and influence senior engineers
• Advocate for clean, maintainable code and modern Microsoft engineering practices
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and CS fundamentals (OOP, data structures, design patterns, algorithms)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Awareness of Azure, SaaS, PaaS, and microservices
• Degree in a relevant STEM discipline (preferred)
• Experience with desktop applications and performance-focused design
