Platform Engineer

Overview

In this role you will help build and evolve Kaluza’s internal developer platform to empower software teams. You will shape cloud infrastructure usage, reduce toil, boost productivity, strengthen security, and drive cost efficiencies. You’ll work within the Platform Engineering team to deliver scalable, reliable tooling and IaC-driven deployments. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of platform, security, and SRE practices. You’ll join a global, mission-driven company turning energy complexity into a seamless, electrified future.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the internal developer platform to enable software teams
• Develop automation and tooling to simplify platform usage and improve developer experience
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, Helm, Crossplane) and promote GitOps
• Establish robust monitoring, observability, and incident prevention with SRE collaboration
• Incorporate security best practices and participate in on-call rotations
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for upgrades and provider accountability

Key requirements

• Experience building and shipping production applications
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Experience maintaining Kubernetes clusters in production
• Solid understanding of distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code technologies
