Test Engineer

Overview

In this role you will help build secure, high-quality software within a geospatial-focused team. You will implement and extend automated tests, work with big data and ETL testing, and ensure services are reliable, secure, and scalable. You’ll contribute to agile ceremonies and mentor others while shaping testing practices across the organisation. This is an opportunity to impact how OS delivers data and location services at scale.

Responsibilities

• Implement and extend automated tests using existing frameworks
• Validate data quality with big data testing tools
• Analyze data transformations to test key business requirements
• Contribute testing expertise to agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retros, standups)
• Communicate software risks and test outcomes with the team
• Support the OS Testing Guild with standards, metrics, and tool usage

Key requirements

• Experience creating, maintaining, and peer reviewing test automation code (preferably in Scala)
• Back-end testing, data testing, or ETL testing experience
• Strong knowledge of software testing and industry best practices
• Experience with Agile Scrum and backlog refinement
• Understanding of CI/CD practices as they relate to testing
