Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you will own embedded software for subsea control systems, driving high‑reliability and robust software across projects. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to shape solutions that support safe, efficient subsea operations. You’ll tackle complex debugging, system‑level issues, and tooling, accelerating the lifecycle of subsea controls. Responsibilities

• Lead design and code reviews to ensure robustness and maintainability
• Produce and validate XML configurations for Subsea Electronic Modules and guide junior engineers
• Develop and enhance Python-based tools to streamline workflows
• Apply OO design, Java SE, and cross‑platform C/C++ for Windows and RT‑Linux; use LINT/LDRA for code quality
• Architect and support distributed communication systems (Modbus, CAN, Ethernet UDP/TCP)
• Lead system‑level troubleshooting across software, communication, and hardware interfaces

Key requirements

• Bachelor-related degree in software/CS/electrical engineering or related field
• Significant embedded C/C++ experience; familiarity with Python and Java SE
• Strong OO design, real‑time systems, and distributed protocols knowledge
• Hands‑on experience in embedded/industrial control software
• System‑level debugging, protocol analysis, and performance optimization
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and influencing design decisions
